He tried to give me the knee-highs too and I told him the swelling extended above the knee so I got the mid-thighs. When I asked when I should wear them he responded "Meh... whenever you feel like it." The lady at the Apotheke was not so blasé. She said I should put them on the moment I arose and wear them the entire time I was conscious, every day, 365/yr. I've worn them two days total since but I've been keeping an eye on that leg just in case. It doesn't seem to have changed. And yes they're warm! It's been a very mild year this year, thankfully. I only had to get the knee-highs, but still. They did the whole measuring thing in the stock room of the Apothek. I should be grateful it was private at least. I actually started to cry when I saw how ugly they were. And then my insurance would only cover two pairs (and can you believe how expensive they are!) and I was supposed to wear them every day. And it was August. And I started crying some more about how gross that was that I only had two pairs of socks. I've given up wearing them on a daily basis, as I'm pretty sure I'm not going to die, but I still have to wear them whenever I fly and for long car trips. Bleh.
